Congratulations to this Year's Award Recipients!

On May 21, 2025, KHHC celebrated 10 outstanding people and projects dedicated to ending homelessness in Kitsap County. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the in-person awards ceremony to show support. It was a wonderful day to remind ourselves how important our work is. You are not just doing a job, you are changing lives.

Special thanks to all the presenters and nominators, Bridget Glasspoole and Katy Knutsen for organizing the event, to Ali Moyer and KCR for providing refreshments, to Catholic Housing Services for the venue at Max Hale in Bremerton, to Marwan Cameron and his team at The Conduit and G2 for broadcasting, to Michael Stevenson for setting up the sound equipment, and to Christie Ho for capturing every moment through her photography.

The Lived Experience subcommittee of the CRIS Committee has launched the CRIS Lived Experience Stories Project – a project aimed to elevate stories and perspectives of people across Washington state who have accessed behavioral health crisis services for themselves or someone else. These shared stories will be brought into the work of the CRIS and integrate what has been learned into recommendations for improving the state behavioral health crisis system.

  • View the project one-pager to help spread the word.
  • Submit your story.
  • A $25 gift card will be offered in appreciation for the first 200 stories received.

Hybrid Shelter Update for Service Providers

Please see the below information shared with KHHC members at the October 2024 Monthly Meeting:

We are excited to begin coordinating with the many community partners who are currently serving those experiencing homelessness in our community. As presented, the proposed model is designed to create a new paradigm in housing services for this population. We are not relocating what we see downtown to a new location. Instead, we encourage each of the service       providers to utilize a systems engineering approach to intentionally consider how they are currently providing services now compared to how they may be able to enhance their services through a manifold service  delivery model at the new location as depicted in the presentation.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Respectfully,
     Joseph Crain MBA, MAML
     Executive Director, SVdP Bremerton
