We are excited to begin coordinating with the many community partners who are currently serving those experiencing homelessness in our community. As presented, the proposed model is designed to create a new paradigm in housing services for this population. We are not relocating what we see downtown to a new location. Instead, we encourage each of the service providers to utilize a systems engineering approach to intentionally consider how they are currently providing services now compared to how they may be able to enhance their services through a manifold service delivery model at the new location as depicted in the presentation.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Respectfully,

Greetings KHHC, I am a member of the Kitsap League of Women Voters and often participate in your very informative monthly calls. I wanted to make KHHC aware of an event we are hosting on November 15th and am happy to provide any additional information you may require. Please see below.
Homelessness and the Meaning of Home Loss of a home, whether through financial difficulties, divorce, illness, or natural disasters like wildfires, is a widespread and growing problem affecting all of us. Often thought of as only an urban problem, homelessness also occurs in suburban and rural areas throughout Washington State. What are the historical roots of homelessness, and what lessons can we learn from them? What are the common meanings of home to us, and how can we apply those meanings to our responses to homelessness in our communities?
In this talk, author and professor Josephine Ensign leads audiences through a values clarification exercise that includes individual writing time. Professor Ensign will share her research on the history of homelessness in her hometown of Seattle, along with discussion of what these stories can teach us about the contemporary crisis of homelessness throughout our state and country. The upcoming Kingston Cares free Community Meal will be prepared and hosted by volunteers of the Kingston Cares Food4kids program and held at the Kingston Village Green Community Center. This month’s dinner will take place on Friday, November 8th and will be served inside between 5 and 6:30pm with an option to receive a To-Go meal for those who are unable to join us in the dining room.
Please help us spread the word about the meals. Our goal is to ensure that people who are having difficulty stretching their food budgets are aware of these details. Everyone who would like to enjoy a home cooked, hot meal in the company of community friends and neighbors is invited and welcome to join us at the month's free meal on November 8th as well as to any of the future community meals, which are always held on the second Friday of the month. The Kingston Village Green Community Center is located at 26159 Dulay Road NE, Kingston.
As we mentioned, the meal is free however, if people wish to give back, a donation jar is available. Kingston Cares (www.kingstoncares.org), in collaboration with the Village Green, sponsors the meals although each month a different community organization prepares, cooks and hosts the event. We would like to encourage other community groups, workplaces, churches, clubs and organizations to join us in this experience at the Village Green (www.kingstonvillagegreen.org) to provide future meals for all our community. Please contact us as we would like to give any new groups a "nickel tour" of our facilities and demonstrate how exciting and fun this monthly community event can be for everyone.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Carol Geissler

As shared from Washington State Health Care Authority:
The Lived Experience subcommittee of the CRIS Committee has launched the CRIS Lived Experience Stories Project – a project aimed to elevate stories and perspectives of people across Washington state who have accessed behavioral health crisis services for themselves or someone else. These shared stories will be brought into the work of the CRIS and integrate what has been learned into recommendations for improving the state behavioral health crisis system.

Responding to community need. Every three years, Kitsap Community Resources (KCR) conducts a comprehensive assessment to evaluate the needs and assets in our community. Historically, it's been designed to highlight the gaps in services, programs and policies in Kitsap county, specifically as they pertain to the community members that might need KCR's services the most. It has also helped inform and guide KCR's strategic plan...
Data gathering with equity in mind. ...In all, 4,205 members of our community shared their perspective; the biggest response by far to any previous survey conducted by KCR. Equally important is that the respondents do largely represent our whole community, when considering their residency, income, race, age, geography, etc. This success is directly attributable to the strength of the community partnership that supported the effort.
Data for all. Moreover, these partners have committed that the data be accessible to all. Below is a public dashboard that's been created to make it easier for all service partners and community members to analyze data and see important results. Our hope is that the results will serve as an educational piece for agencies throughout Kitsap County to better understand the challenging issues our community faces and ultimately aid in creating effective solutions...
